Can I change the position of windows and doors?
Yes, you can change the position of windows and doors, as long as the bracing
requirements are not compromised. We will discuss this with you at the time
of purchase.
-
Does my cabin come with a deck?
To keep the cabins compact and transportable we do not normally attach a deck
to your cabin. However, we do supply modular deck units to compliment
your shed once it is on site. For example, a deck unit of 800x2000mm can be supplied for $195,
and several of these units can be joined together in different configurations to form
a relaxing outdoor living area.
If you require a non standard size,
let us know and we will be happy to give you a quote on a custom made deck.
-
Will my cabin come with gutters?
Yes, our Character™ Range Cabins come standard with gutters. You will
have to provide your own downpipes, or we can supply them at an additional cost.
-
Can I change the stud height of my cabins?
Yes, within certain limits we can let you change the stud height of your
cabin, but an additional cost may apply.
-
Will my cabin need finishing off and/or regular maintenance?
All our Character™ Range Cabins will leave our yard completely finished, ready for
you to locate and move in. Regular maintenance will be no different from any other new
dwelling exposed to the elements.
-
What options do I have for external cladding?
On our Character™ Range Cabins we can use either rusticated weatherboards,
bevel back weatherboards or shadowclad.
Other claddings are available on request, but may incur an extra charge.
-
How will my cabin be delivered?
Smaller units will be delivered on a trailer towed by a 4x4 vehicle.
Bigger units will be delivered on a truck, and moved into place either by
a hiab or a portable crane, depending on the size and weight of your cabin,
as well as on site access. We will discuss the options with you at the time
of purchase.
-
What will delivery cost?
Our standard rate for smaller units in the North Island is $2.00 per km from our yard just
outside of Wanganui. For bigger units that require pilot vehicles or
cranes, or for South Island rates we can give you a quote tailored to
your specific requirements.
-
What are the site requirements for my cabin?
You will need a clear and near level site, large enough to site your cabin.
For all legal requirements you will need to contact your local council, as
we are unable to give you legal advice.
-
What are the site access requirements?
Ideally we will need good vehicle access to your site, but in exceptional
situations we may be able to lift our cabins over obstacles and into awkward
places. We are happy to discuss the options with you.
-
Can I pick up, transport or relocate my cabin myself?
You can, since all our cabins come on skids to facilitate transport and relocation.
However, keep in mind that safely moving a cabin requires machinery and skills
that are beyond the average DIYer. We recommend you talk to us first if you wish to
go down this road.
